Calling all HR professionals you can stop the great resignation of 2021…
Over the last year a staggering number of employees have left existing roles and in many cases without a next role lined up.
HR Software company Personio surveyed people in the UK & Ireland and found that 38% of employees were looking to change roles. In the states people Analytics firm Visier found that 1 in 4 Americans quit their jobs in 2021. They believe the overarching reason for this is the re-evaluation of work and personal values during the pandemic.
In the past the salary was the main reason that people were selecting roles, however now whilst this is still important and in many ways the baseline expectation.
Employees are now looking for:
· Being valued & acknowledged
· A sense of belonging
· Being part of an open, trusting team
· Potential for meaningful progression
· Flexibility and autonomy to create their own work schedule
· Health & wellbeing initiatives
· The ability to spending more time with family & friends (social connection)
· Sense of purpose
· Collaboration between employee and employer in decision making around return to work.
So, imagine if you decided to instead build your company around these values not only would you attract amazing talent that is already out their searching, but you would also create a company that thrives in the process too.
Modes of working are sometimes not considered when companies review their wellness strategy and instead opt to lose incredible talent as they don’t offer flexible working or job shares?
